Top Critics' Reviews

Rotten: [A] manipulative downer about a widower who deals with his icy emotional numbness by literally taking a sledgehammer to his old life. – Chris Nashawaty, Entertainment Weekly, Apr 8, 2016

Fresh: Amazingly, if awkwardly, the experiment works. – Bilge Ebiri, Village Voice, Apr 8, 2016

Rotten: There is much to savor here, especially the unforced performance of Judah Lewis -- one more recruit to the terrific roster of younger actors who are streaming into the movies. Yet the film lacks the courage of its affliction. – Anthony Lane, New Yorker, Apr 12, 2016

Fresh: Earned tears and unexpected laughter combine for more satisfying impact. Gyllenhaal and Watts can wring empathy out of the oddest of circumstances. – Peter Howell, Toronto Star, Apr 7, 2016

Love it .... Writer , Actors, Director , Music . .... ALL Good ... :)

Ignore the tomato

Seriously I don't know why this movie wasn't as promoted as Jean Marc's other films I would say this is his best film from the last couple years.. It is a nice little movie not as dramatic as some but it is warm and cozy and charming also funny too. Love the music as well

Seriously weirdest, worst movie I've seen in ages. My husband and I painfully stuck with it on a long flight hoping it would get better. It didn't. Very, very strange. No character development. Still couldn't tell you what it was about. Waste of money. Big time!
