About the Movie
'Depeche Mode Live in Berlin' was filmed on location at the O2 World Berlin on November 25th and 27th, 2013 during the band's extremely successful 'Delta Machine' Tour which saw them play to over 2.4 million people in 32 countries. Depeche Mode was touring in support of their lauded 13th studio album, ‘Delta Machine,’ which debuted at #1 in 12 countries worldwide in March 2013. The concert not only includes performances of tracks from ‘Delta Machine’ but also some of their most memorable and biggest hits including "Personal Jesus" and "Enjoy the Silence." 'Alive in Berlin' includes the full live show, inter-spliced with behind-the-scenes footage, multiple interviews with the band and their fans, and a 2-song acoustic session, which was filmed at Salon Bel Ami, the oldest existing brothel in Berlin.
I have seen them live in Chicago and they felt young again! This tour was so much better than Tour of the Universe as they had a set balance between their old songs a long with their new materials. I felt Delta Machine is a bit under-appreciated by fans and critics alike as this album was refreshing and have felt the combination of their 90's charm along with its modern blues-feel like sound
I saw this tour in Montreal and this film captures the essence of DM. Anton Corbin is a genius at concert filming. He knows how to bring to life a performance and the emotions of the band and the audience.
One of their best
A lot of purists might say 101 is their best live album/video. But this is even better in my opinion. It's great to see them mature into a band that can still keep things fresh, fun and alive - and it shows in their performance. Can't wait for the next album/tour.
