When large shipments of uncut diamonds begin disappearing during transit and then fail to reappear on the international market, the British government suspects that there is something going on besides diamond smuggling, and James Bond is called in to investigate. With the help of beautiful smuggler Tiffany Case, 007 traces the crimes to Las Vegas and reclusive billionaire Willard Whyte ….but the casino itself, the center of the smuggling, actually belongs to Bond archnemesis Ernst Blofeld. Blofeld is stockpiling the gems to build a massive satellite-based laser capable of destroying huge tracts of land, with which he will ransom the world's governments. In order to stop him, Bond must face offbeat assassins Mr. Wint and Mr. Kidd, as well as Bambi and Thumper--two scantily-clad beauties who are more than a match for Bond in hand-to-hand combat.

Top Critics' Reviews
Fresh: The movie's momentum is such that one never has much time to react to its lack of reason, only to its sensations of speed and narrow escape, and to the splendor of its crazy gadgets and decor.
Fresh: Bond looks better than ever, partly because Sean Connery has returned to play him.
Rotten: Diamonds Are Forever doesn't carry the same quality or flair as its many predecessors.
Fresh: We see different movies for different reasons, and Diamonds Are Forever is great at doing the things we see a James Bond movie for.
Good Movie, but Bad ending
There is a lot to love about this film: Sean Connery back for his last offical Bond film, Las Vegas, and a really cool car chase but the ending makes this a good Bond movie and not a great one but I still recommend this movie for the good parts which are very entertaining plus it has Dolby Digtal 5.1 audio which most iTunes movies don't have.
First of all, I am so happy they have James Bond movies on iTunes. This is one of my favorite Bond movies, apart from Thunderball and On Her Majesty's Secret Service. Plenty of action and excitement. Go Bond!
The studio was desperate to return Connery to the role of Bond and payed him very well to do so after the abrupt resignation of George Lazenbyand the lack of success (By Bond standards anyway), from On Her Majesty's Secret Service(although that was a very good movie). This Bond is based on an Ian Fleming Novel of the same name, which happens to be one of the least enjoyable of the Fleming books, so the Bond people had to add to the plot. The problem is, what they added was ridiculous!! And worse yet, they did a poor job of casting. using people who previously played in other bond films. Connery was now too old to play the part, the stunts are poor and the villians were unbelievable. But the Sets by Ken Adam are amazing, the score is excellent and Jill St. Johns turn at Tiffany Case was very good. This Movie had a lot of potential, but it is clear why they went with Moore on the next film (Though Connery was the best bond, especially the first 4). Again directed by the same guy who did Goldfinger, but this one went wrong. Decent but not among the best
