About the Movie

On the streets of New York City, police officer John McClane (Bruce Willis) has just about seen it all. He's got a nose for danger, a penchant for being in the wrong place at the wrong time and a talent for overcoming incredible odds. But this time, danger is looking for him. Seeking a very personal and mysterious revenge against McClane, a malevolent genius named Simon (Jeremy Irons) is forcing the heroic cop to play a deadly game. The stakes: New York City itself. The game begins when a phone call from Simon sends McClane to Harlem, where he unexpectedly forms an alliance with the very unwilling Zeus Carver (Samuel L. Jackson). McClane and Zeus soon find themselves careening across the Big Apple, pursuing the deadly Simon, who's always one step ahead of them.

Top Critics' Reviews

Fresh: Pure action, with bigger and better explosions and stunts. – Caryn James, New York Times, Jul 16, 2008

Fresh: It's a tense, terrifically funny action dazzler with a wow level in special effects that will be hard to top. – Peter Travers, Rolling Stone, Jun 25, 2007

Rotten: Put to the sequel litmus test, queasily spectacular Vengeance would only rate a footnote without a strong original to exploit -- or a protracted telephone-terrorist subplot to steal from Dirty Harry 1. – Mike Clark, USA Today, Jun 24, 2010

Rotten: Degenerates into an improbable, confusing series of chases and an overly involved heist that takes far too long to set up. – Brian Lowry, Variety, Jul 7, 2010

Die hard again and again.

I don't know if there is a Bruce Willis film out there that isn't bad. Bruce Willis just keeps on bringin it.

this is a great movie but why deosnt itunes have die hard 2?

First Is Better...

Die Hard: With a Vengeance is a very good film. It's NO WHERE NEAR AS FUN AS THE FIRST, but it still holds onto the great action. Speaking of action, this film excels at it! Overall, Jeremy Irons is a great villain -- though I think this must be the millionth time -- Bruce is back and that's great, Sam Jackson is great -- especially in the beginning when McClane has to where the sandwich board with the offensive wording on it. Great stuff. Buy/rent this film.
