About the Movie

Disneynature takes you on an epic journey into the wilds of China. Follow the stories of three animal families – a doting panda bear mother guiding her growing baby, a young golden monkey who feels displaced by his infant sister, and a mother snow leopard raising two cubs in one of the harshest environments on earth. Featuring stunning, never-before-seen imagery, the film navigates China’s terrain – from the frigid mountains to the heart of the bamboo forest – on the wings of red-crowned cranes, tying these extraordinary tales together.

Top Critics' Reviews

Fresh: As an introduction for children to exotic creatures in picturesque landscapes, the movie is harmless enough. – Neil Genzlinger, New York Times, Apr 20, 2017

Fresh: A gently stirring doc about pandas, snow leopards, and golden monkeys in the China wilds traces the circle of life - and death. – Owen Gleiberman, Variety, Apr 10, 2017

Fresh: John Krasinski narrates, and though he doesn't achieve that mix of gravitas and cheeky wit [of] Sir David Attenborough ... his vocal stylings are perfectly homey and serviceable for the task of guiding us through the lives of these special animals. – Katie Walsh, Los Angeles Times, Apr 21, 2017

Rotten: With "Born in China," Disneynature continues its tradition of ascribing human traits and emotions to wild creatures in ways that flirt with artificiality. – Jane Horwitz, Washington Post, Apr 20, 2017
