Top Critics' Reviews

Rotten: Allegiant aches to be a thought-provoking, moving allegory of the current world. Instead, it's an unwieldy two hours too unintentionally silly to validate how seriously it takes itself. – Ariana Bacle, Entertainment Weekly, Mar 18, 2016

Rotten: egregiously padded piffle – Peter Travers, Rolling Stone, Mar 18, 2016

Rotten: Because the series' plot reveal turns out to be more confusing than compelling, and because turning a novel into two films invariably leads to inflated productions, only the most devoted fans of the book will pledge allegiance to what's on the screen. – Kenneth Turan, Los Angeles Times, Mar 17, 2016

Rotten: These movies were never going to transform cinema, but watching Allegiant, it's hard not to feel as if someone has pulled the rug out from under an otherwise modestly entertaining franchise. – Bilge Ebiri, Village Voice, Mar 18, 2016

Nothing From The Book?

This comes from a person who never writes reviews. I have read all 3 of the books and I was extremely disgusted with what they made of this movie. The only part that was from the book was around the first 15-30 minutes. Everything else was brand new and when you have read the books and you're a huge fan, you were probably mad too. Trust me, the movie was made wonderfully, but it does not match the book. If you like an unmatched movie and book series I encourage you to watch this. Plus a bad way to end a great novel. Thanks.

Rancid

The only thing good about this movie were the spaceships.

Okay

I saw the movie and I thought it was okay, but the people who read the book have to agree with me was it like anything in the book, because to me it was nothing like the book.

You should have saw my face when the movie ended. But you know all the actors and actresses did well in the movie, and the action and CGI was great to. So overall it was a good movie, and I do enjoy the other two movies.
