Top Critics' Reviews

Rotten: A feast of A-grade f/x married to a Z-grade, irony-free script. – Derek Elley, Variety, Jul 7, 2010

Rotten: The rampaging-monsters flick Dragon Wars loudly speaks the universal language of effects-laden mayhem. Unfortunately, it is also fluent in the laughable dialogue of a million bad fantasy flicks. – Robert Abele, Los Angeles Times, Sep 22, 2007

Rotten: This monster film makes even the remake of Godzilla look good. – Frank Scheck, Hollywood Reporter, Jun 24, 2010

Rotten: When they decide to sic [those monsters] on downtown Los Angeles, the movie turns shockingly watchable. Until that sequence, there was no evidence that anybody involved with this laughable fantasy knew what he or she was doing. – Wesley Morris, Boston Globe, Nov 24, 2011

Awful movie

The only reason this film recieves 2 stars is for the fun (but stupid) action sequences. Everything else is just boring, un-interesting garbage. My advice: don't buy (or even watch) this movie. If you're really that interested, just watch the trailer for all of the good action.

CGI good Dragon Wars Bad

I have seen student films with better scripts then this. Even from first year film students. What was Robert Forster thinking? A couple of extra bucks? He tries to help this movie but the script and the director just fail him. The CGI effects are not bad, actually they are pretty good but when the only thing you have is CGI and no script then why waste $75 million to make a movie. I use the word movie very loosely here. I can talk about the story but I was confused after being explained through voice over, Korean actors (no offense) and subtitles on how these dragon wars came to be. The script kept on throwing new twists and unbelievable situations while the director approved all of it. The script and the director failed this film. One Star for CGI and Robert Forster

Good movie
