About the Movie

A young woman washes ashore and is taken in by a stranger. As she convalesces in his remote cabin, the relationship with her would-be savior tears down archaic ideas of patriarchy and gender roles still prevalent in modern society.

Quietly powerful and unique film

I was fortunate enough to see "Driftwood" last year when it hit the ArcLight Cinemas in Hollywood (and I was even lucky enough to meet the director and producer), and I encourage everyone to give this unique film a shot! I don't want to spoil anything, so all I will say about "Driftwood" is that it subverts your expectations at every turn. This is a visceral movie about breaking free from captivity in more ways than one, and it conveys so much emotion despite being a film that is almost completely nonverbal. Striking imagery, strong acting, and tense cat-and-mouse pacing make this one of the most unusual, refreshing movies I've ever seen.

I definitely wasn’t expecting to be this engrossed in a film that has no words. Definitely worth a watch or two-it’s quite a unique experience

A movie without any words, but a strong language that holds your attention. A compelling experience.
