About the Movie

Luke and Kate are co-workers at a Chicago brewery, where they spend their days drinking and flirting. They’re perfect for each other, except that they’re both in relationships. Luke is in the midst of marriage talks with his girlfriend of six years, and Kate is playing it cool with her music producer boyfriend Chris. But you know what makes the line between “friends” and “more than friends” really blurry? Beer.

Fresh: Drinking Buddies walks a fine line between the mundane and the meaningful, but the actors walking it are top-notch. – Steven Rea, Philadelphia Inquirer, Aug 30, 2013

Rotten: A meandering, unfocused kind-of love story among 20 and 30-somethings that grates as much as it pleases. – Linda Barnard, Toronto Star, Sep 5, 2013

It's a pleasantly surprising movie about life.

Sometimes life is awkward. Sometimes you just want to let loose. Sometimes you need to yell and cry. Sometimes you do things you know you shouldn't. But everything seems to work out in the end. That's what this movie does in a delightful way.

Loved it!

Favorite movie of the year so far! Fantastic cast and enjoyed the overall flow. Warning: If you like beer, make sure you have a 6-pack of something decent within an arm's reach - this will make you thirsty as hell.

So great!!!

I saw this movie at SXSW and I have been desperately waiting for it to come out so I could see it again. This movie is laugh out loud funny, honest, sad... everything you could want from a film. AND it was all improvised!!! Every single line was made up on the spot! The actors were given a vague outline of how the director wanted the film to go, and then they brought it to life.
