Top Critics' Reviews

Rotten: Overheated family confessions meet SWAT team conventions at the climax, and little resonates in their wake. – Andy Webster, New York Times, May 24, 2017

Rotten: Utterly dull thriller "Drone" tries to raise ethical and moral questions about modern warfare, but the audience can only dwell on the illogical plot and unsympathetic characters - if they can engage at all. – Kimber Myers, Los Angeles Times, May 25, 2017

Another Liberal View of Modern Warfare

Another film about how evil America is in our fight against terrorism. In war, there's ALWAYS collateral damage. In other words, innocent people die. This is especially true with the fight against terror because terrorists hide behind innocent people. The only way to prevent all civilan casulites is to surrender to the terrorists. Clearly this isn’t an option. That said, America is the ONLY nation on earth that puts it's own soilders lives at risk in order to prevent as many civilan casulties as possible.
This film, and many others like it, make it seem like America just fires into civilan crowds with no regard for killing innocent civilians. NOTHING could be further from the truth. There are COUNTLESS safeguards in place that must be followed prior to firing into an area that MAY harm civilians...and usually we let known terroists live in order to prevent innocent civilan casulties.
Just once I would like to see a film that portrays the extrodinary lengths America's Military goes through to prevent the loss of innocent life. The thousands of US soilders who die in place of civilans they don't even know. War is hell. America will never be able to prevent all civilian casualties, but we minimize them better than any other nation on earth. The only reason we haven’t won the war on terror already is precisly because of the countless safety protocols and restraint we show when it comes to fighting the war on terror. We don't need lectures from rich Hollywood elites on how terrible it is to harm an innocent civilian. The US Military is VERY aware and is taking steps EVERY SECOND OF EVERY DAY to try to minimize as many civilan casulites as possible.
Why don't we focus on the heros who put themselves in harms daily way to prevent terroist attacks. Why don't we support them rather than making them out to be cold blooded monsters. I swear, sometimes it feels like the world has gone insaine. We criticize those who fight for our right to live, while making excuses for those who want to slaughter or enslave all people who don't practice their sick, radical religious views. Wake up Hollywood. Get out of your rich, elite bubble and come down to the real world. Try thanking the "little people" who protect your lavish lifestyle.

Not much going for it.

Acting was not that great. I expected more seeing the Trailer. I say it's worth a rent and nothing more.

Decent

Decent movie, good acting. The storyline is slow and I often times found myself checking how much time was left in the film. It shows how blind hatred towards others is bad yet perpetuates the hate vs hate ideals that already exist. There is no accountability in suicide bombing.
