About the Movie
Eden Lake is a relentlessly tense and immaculately paced horror-thriller about modern youth gone wild. When a young couple goes to a remote wooded lake for a romantic getaway, their quiet weekend is shattered by an aggressive group of local kids. Rowdiness quickly turns to rage as the teens terrorize the couple in unimaginable ways, and a weekend outing becomes a bloody battle for survival.

Top Critics' Reviews
Fresh: An effectively harrowing Brit thriller-cum-horror pic whose yuppie protags' weekend getaway runs violently afoul of the local youth.
Fresh: ...while Eden Lake is effective, something feels not quite right about cheering for prepubescent kids to get their fatal comeuppance.
Fresh: Daily Mail scaremongering? Possibly. But formidably well-made, all the same.
Rotten: For all the brutality of the confrontation with knife-weilding, car-nicking local scum - think Stanley knives gouging out tongues - it's never far off ludicrous.
Very scary movie for realism...
This is my first time reviewing, Felt obligated as there aren't any....
This movie is very good! It is so well done and acted, it is graphic and realistic. A great watch!
If you like the hills have eyes or anything like that, you will love this!
Dark and depressing..
This movie is nothing like The Desent-it's depressing and dark. It has no redeeming qualities whatsoever.
More torture porn
A slight increase in plausibility separates this torture porn flick from other titles such as The Hills Have Eyes, Saw, I spit on Your Grave, Wolf Creek, etc. The bad guys aren't inexplicably crazy, mutated, or religious zealots. And the baddies lack a wah wah waaaaah ability to haunt the victims, which is welcomed and rare in the genre.
Despite otherwise intelligent script writing, the ending is all wrong. I'll try not to spoil it too much, but a body count greater than two makes international news. It'd be a much better film if they had a prologue. They could have even done the news reports during the credits schtick. I would have given it four stars had they.
