About the Movie

Working-class waitress Slim (Jennifer Lopez, Maid in Manhattan) thought she was entering a life of domestic bliss when she married Mitch (Billy Campbell, TV's "Once and Again"), the man of her dreams. After the arrival of their first child, her picture perfect life is shattered when she discovers Mitch's hidden possessive dark side, a controlling and abusive alter ego that can turn trust, love and tranquility into terror. Terrified for her child's safety, Slim flees with her daughter. Relentless in his pursuit and enlisting the aid of lethal henchmen, Mitch continually stalks the prey that was once his family. Finally, Slim is forced to fight back, engaging Mitch in a physical and psychological battle, showing him that she's had ENOUGH! Jennifer Lopez delivers an electrifying performance as a new breed of action hero in director Michael Apted's (The World Is Not Enough) harrowing, high-style hit thriller.

Rotten: You expect more from director Michael Apted (Enigma) and screenwriter Nicholas Kazan (Reversal of Fortune) than this cliche pileup. – Peter Travers, Rolling Stone, Nov 24, 2006

Rotten: It appears to have been made by people to whom the idea of narrative logic or cohesion is an entirely foreign concept. – Charles Taylor,, Jul 7, 2010

Rotten: Works as long as it faces the horror of extreme male privilege, but dissipates quickly once Lopez begins over-preparing for a face-off with hand-to-hand combat training and calibrated techno-gadgetry. – Michael Atkinson, Village Voice, May 28, 2002

Rotten: At best, this should have been a bad made-for-TV movie. – Paul Clinton (,, May 24, 2002

normally when you sit down to watch a movie about domestic violence you should get the chills that the person would feel, you should be able to feel their pain, this movie did neither of that for me, i watched it with some emotion and more than because i love j.lo but seriously the dramatic scences could have been better

Well done.

I really am not a fan of Jennnifer Lopez but in this movie she did particularly well playing the role of a vistim of domestic violence. The movie keeps you on your feet and just flows very well together. The suspense is good and satisfying. I liked the whole movie. Its a good pick.

This movie is definitely a hearted pounder. Way to go J Lo.
