About the Movie
An epic battle begins when a middle-aged husband and father of two learns on the last day of a family vacation that he has lost his job. Keeping the news from his nagging wife and wound-up children, he packs up the family and embarks on a full day of park hopping amid enchanted castles and fairytale princesses. Things don’t go according to plan, as the manufactured mirth of the fantasyland around him begins to haunt his subconscious. An idyllic family vacation quickly unravels into a surrealist and darkly comic nightmare of paranoid visions, bizarre encounters, and an obsessive pursuit of a pair of sexy teenage Parisians. “Escape From Tomorrow” is a bold and ingenious trip into the happiest place on earth. Top Critics' Reviews
Rotten: None of it is as scary or as funny as it should be, and what starts out as a sly thumb in the eye of corporate power ends up as a muddled and amateurish homage to David Lynch.
Fresh: A cult classic in the making, if I've ever seen one.
Rotten: Escape From Tomorrow soon turns into an endless loop of Expressionist symbolism, scoring its blunt points over and over until at last it limps off the screen, trailing suggestions of a reboot with altered players.
Fresh: Moore's sometimes surreal, sometimes sophomoric, black comic phantasmagoria, makes for a bumpy theme park ride.
Worst movie ever!!!!
I was really excited about this movie and I love Disney world. It's cool that this movie was shot in Disney, but after you get over that the movie is horrible. I've seen a lot of bad movies that I have enjoyed but this is the worst. 5 of us saw it and none of us could tell you what it was about. Do yourself a favor and do not spent a dollar on this movie. No wonder Disney isn't making a stink about this movie it's terrible.
Art film/parody glad I got it!
When I heard about this film I got sucked into a my own imagination of what someone could do with this topic. I really enjoyed how it holds a funhouse mirror to the House of Mouse, and I'm a sucker for the psychotic-break-from-reality trope that this film explores. From this copy, the only thing I'd wish for is a director commentary l.
Story wise, I felt it was a bit slower then it needed to be--either adding more plot elements/gags or boiling out some of the establishing elements of scenes would make a tighter, more satisfying film. I came away wanting more but feeling it took just a little too long to get what it delivered. If they ever revisit the idea, I would definitely ride it again.
Rather get kicked in the nuts.....
This movie has to be the worst movie of 2013. Save your money because anything you spend your money on will be 100 percent better then this trash. Oh yeah, all you people that gave this movie a good review, therapy may help.
