Fresh: All in all, "Escape Plan" does what it sets out to do.
Rotten: Schwarzenegger seems to be the only one here who correctly takes the film as a lark.
Fresh: "Escape Plan" is mostly a gray, thudding metal machine of throwback exploitation, but the goateed, goofy Ah-nold is so happy to be in the thick of an old-school bruiser again that he makes it feel like the dumb-fun flashback party it is.
Rotten: While it's fun to remember '80s popcorn-movie thrills, fully recapturing those thrills might be impossible.
Two Legends. One Movie. A MUST SEE!!!
History will prove that there will never be another Sylvester Stallone or another Arnold Schwarzenegger. These two legends have truly raisin the bar way high certainly when it comes to the action genre. Times may have changed and movie goers interest may have also changed but that does not change the fact that an actor like Sylvester Stallone has brought so much to the world of entertainment. Not only is he an actor, but he's a writer, producer and director. Seeing him and Arnold together was a blast. Escape Plan had an interesting story and was very entertaining, suspenseful, funny and a movie with great twists. Thanks Mr. Stallone & Mr. Schwarzenegger for a great movie. Totally recommended.
Overall entertaining movie with many twists and turns you don't see coming. Sky and Arnold make a great team....wish they could've done a Tango and Cash type if movie back in the 80's..... Great chemistry.
When I first saw the promos with Stalone and Schwarzenegger in this movie, I assumed that it was going to be terrible and the producers were just trying to make money off the "big names." To an extent that's true, but this was actually a pretty decent movie that would have been just as good with two young unknowns in the lead roles.
The plot was interesting albiet far fetched, and the performances by Rocky and the Terminator were both pretty good.
Overall I gave this 4 stars. It's not oscar material, but it was entertaining, and it was fun seeing the two action stars together in this film.
