About the Movie

Its name: EVENT HORIZON. The high-tech, pioneering research spacecraft mysteriously vanished, without a trace, on its maiden voyage seven years earlier. But a weak, persistent signal form the long-missing craft prompts a rescue team, headed by the intrepid Captain Miller (Laurence Fishburne, THE MATRIX and MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE III), to wing its way through the galaxy on a bold rescue mission. Accompanying Miller is his elite crew and the lost ship’s designer (Sam Neill, JURASSIC PARK); their mission is to find and salvage the state-of-the-art interstellar horror. Kathleen Quinlan (APOLLO 13) and Joely Richardson (TV’s NIP/TUCK) also star in this gripping sci-fi thriller.

Customer Reviews

One of my favorite sci-fi horror flicks. SPOILER ALERT!

This is one of few movies that made me jump in the theatre. The plot is pretty good as it starts out with a ship that had a new engine that basically made a wormhole that was supposed to revitalize space travel. It's like a ghost story and sci-fi movie at the same time. Very good plot, great story line and the part about the eyes made sense because what the people saw was so horrible it made them gouge their eyes. It does have some gore, though about on par with Aliens, maybe a little less. It's more of a FREAKY show than anything. The kind where there isn't any mood music leading up to a scare, then BOO!!! something freaky happens. I still haven't seen many great Sci-Fi horror / suspense movies since this.

The best psychological horror film ever!

A must see for those who love "Aliens" & "The Thing" & also for those who have played the videogame "Deadspace"!

My Favorite "Scary Movie"

Creepy film that has some sketchy religious overtones mixed into a sci-fi plot. The angle is interesting and I still get kind of scared when I watch it.
