About the Movie
As the presidential primary season kicks off in early 2007, the Republican Party has become a stench to the American people. The Bush Administration has overseen the initiation of two wars, an unprecedented debt expansion, bailouts, a frightening disregard for Constitution and the Bill of Rights, and a "war on terror" that more closely resembled a war on privacy and civil liberties. President Bush prepared to step down, leaving "Republican" a dirty word on the lips of many. For Liberty: How the Ron Paul Revolution Watered the Withered Tree of Liberty follows the most successful grassroots presidential campaign in United States history, analyzing this unprecedented political upheaval from the perspective of those who were there making it happen. Filmmakers Chris Rye & Corey Kealiher take a look into the genesis of a movement the likes of which have been unseen since the countercultural movements of the 1960's.
A Feel Good Look At The Powers of Grassroots
Despite your politics, anyone can appreciate the efforts of a grassroots campaign. The film follows the efforts of several small groups and citizens in their efforts to get their candidate, Ron Paul, on the national stage. If 2012 is any indication, it worked. I enjoyed this look at the campaign of Dr. Paul and how it's affecting American politics today.
WOW! I still can't believe the MSM continues to ignore this R3volution that is obviously bigger than the Tea Party! The country is being reshaped and they won't televise it.
Great doc, just rented and really enjoyed it. Two thumbs up all the way!
