About the Movie
Marty is the ideal fifth grader who gets good grades, listens to teachers and doesn't start trouble in class. But a darkness is beginning to fall over Marty's life. The kids at school won't stop picking on him, his parents don't seem to understand him, and now Marty must grapple with a terrible secret that threatens to destroy life as he knows it..his big brother is a serial killer! Brotherly love is put to the ultimate test in this emotional coming-of-age story that descends into full-blown horror.
For a (small) independent film made in Indiana....it's pretty good. Very gruesome. Audio quality could be a little better but over all.....a decent Award winning Horror film. Definitely an original Idea. Can't wait to see the Sequel spin-off......"Headless".....the film within the film. Very "Robert Rodriguez" like. The film came out in 2012 and has been going around the horror film festival circuit and is just now coming out. Definitely worth a watch.
Really good movie… Gavin Brown (the kid) is fantastic, but only him. This movie deserves better actors. However, It’s a great movie and if I were you I would watch it.
The nude scene looks SO FAKE… almost unbelievable… well, it’s a 1 minute scene, so it doesn’t matter to much...
I gave this one a shot based on the previous reviews and of course the trailer. First to say is that it's an indie film. If you are turned off by less than block buster cinematic image quality then this will turn you way off. It's rather low budget. The actors were decent, especially the actor who played the younger brother. He was quite good. The father was less than spectacular and the older brother was average. All in all is was an interesting storyline but it seemed to drag for me and felt slow. There were several times that I faded out a bit, waiting for something interesting to happen and when it did it felt less than exciting for me. It's somewhat entertaining but nothing I would leap to purchase. Renting it is not a bad idea but I wouldn't watch it again. It's also not much of a horror film. The image on the cover makes you feel it's going to be more gory and based around a killer shown throughout the film, like a traditional slasher film but it's way different from that. In fact you never really see anyone killed. You are aware it's happening but not really a part of it. I know this is the point, that you are seeing things the way the younger brother sees them but it sort of lost it's entertainment value for me. Again it's worth the rental price but do just that before buying. Enjoy!
