About the Movie
In this holiday comedy, Academy Award and Golden Globe-winner Reese Witherspoon ("Walk the Line," "Legally Blonde") stars with Vince Vaughn ("Wedding Crashers," "The Break-Up") as an upscale, happily unmarried San Francisco couple, Kate and Brad, who find themselves socked in by fog on Christmas morning and as a result, their exotic vacation plans morphed into the family-centric holiday they had, until now, gleefully avoided. Out of obligation an unable to escape they trudge to not one, not two, but four relative-choked festivities, increasingly mortified to find childhood fears raised, adolescent wounds reopened…and their very future together uncertain. As Brad counts the hours to when he can get away from their parents, step-parents, siblings and an assortment of nieces and nephews, Kate is starting to hear the ticking of a different kind of clock. And by the end of the day, she is beginning to wonder if their crazy families choices are not so crazy after all.

Top Critics' Reviews
Rotten: Gordon's stars are charmless, his script cheerless, and his sterling supporting cast can't seem to figure out what they've been brought on board to do.
Rotten: Seems intent on being as generic and lowbrow as possible, with broad slapstick emphasized over witty dialogue or interesting characters.
Rotten: Didn't quite get over the hump.
Rotten: Oh, the hilarity of hating your family at the holidays.
I really liked this movie! It was really funny! I'm not a big fan of Vaughn, but he did very well in this movie, and like always, Witherspoon was great!
One Of My Favorite Movies
This Film was so hilarious i saw it at least three times. Not Only that its also got an all star cast. Totally reccomendable as a date film.
Not the Christmas comedy I expected
When my best friend and I went to see this movie, we were under the pretense that this was an uplifting Christmas comedy. It was quite the opposite. I think I laughed once during the entire movie, and the plot was very slow. I almost fell asleep. If, by some chance, you enjoy movies about people's dysfunctional families arguing on Christmas Day, this is the movie for you.
