Top Critics' Reviews

Fresh: With the soulful Gleeson and a sweetly menacing Fassbender (under a giant helmet-head) at its center, the movie never loses its acerbic edge or its oversize heart. – Kyle Anderson, Entertainment Weekly, Jan 6, 2015

Fresh: Odd, offbeat, somehow endearing, the bleakly comic "Frank" has its own kind of charm as well as some pointed, poignant things to say about the mysterious nature of creativity, where it comes from and where it might all go. – Kenneth Turan, Los Angeles Times, Aug 21, 2014

Fresh: The whole thing is in danger of becoming arch and quirky, yet Abrahamson steers the final act of his drama toward a sombre, unhappy rumination. – Anthony Lane, New Yorker, Sep 5, 2014

Fresh: A functioning, funny, weirdly touching fable of artistic angst and aspiration, a meditation on fame and its terrors and the metaphoric usefulness of masks and huge fake heads. – Michael Phillips, Chicago Tribune, Aug 28, 2014

Customer Reviews

The first time I disagree with the reviews

Normally this is my category of preferred cinema; an original story with fantastic actors. However, one key ingredient seemed to be missing: a “compelling” original story. It seemed to relish in its own self-professed “originality” and missed the mark, falling into the deluge of trite “hipster” cinema.

Wasted Time

Kept hoping it would get better. I didn't turn it off, but should have

Great movie can't wait to be able to purchase it

Quirky, intelligent and fast paced. Loved it!
