About the Movie
One of the most popular movie musicals ever made! FUNNY GIRL follows the early career of stage comedienne Fanny Brice, a role that earned Barbra Streisand the 1968 Oscar® for Best Actress. As the film opens, only her mother believes Fanny can make it in show business. When she gets her first break at Keeney's Music Hall, her hilarious debut as a roller-skating chorus girl gets her hired as a comedienne. A year later Fanny is working for Florenz Ziegfeld in his famous Follies and brings the house down with an outrageous and unplanned number. Fanny becomes a star, falls in love and marries NickArnstein (Omar Sharif), a handsome gambler whose luck doesn't hold up. The film's many memorable songs include "Don't Rain On My Parade" and the Streisand classic "People."

I'm a huge fan of the voice and the talent...
Ahhhh such a great movie!!!! Not enough people appreciate what a great actress Barbra is!!! Just watch her eyes, she has the most expressive eyes - they can light up and make you smile and then with just a look they can break your heart. In this movie, they'll do both. Very deserving of her Oscar!!!
FANTASTICAL MOVIE! BRAVA!
I saw this movie last night and it sort of changed my life. Barbra is my idol (Sorry, Taylor Swift and Audrey Hepburn) and Omar Sharif is so.....incredible! I reccomend this movie if you want to cry and laugh. But be warned, the end is unpredictable and the worst part of the movie. Trust me, you will be wanting to murder the television! I found myself in tears and screaming WHY WHY WHY, and you will too. Great job, William Wyler!!!!
