About the Movie

We all have fond childhood memories of gathering around the table with the family for a game of Monopoly, Scrabble, or LIFE. In an era of tech-based entertainment, word is spreading about a new breed of board game. Going Cardboard takes you into the designer "German-style" board gaming scene, from its community of enthusiastic fans to the creative passions of the designers and their journeys from concept to reality. These are not the board games you remember. A FilmBuff Presentation.

Customer Reviews

Great docu!

Fun topic that takes the viewer across the world to an international game festival in Germany- and then back! Solid intersecting story lines. Worth it!

Glad to see there is still life in cardboard games!

Backed this project on Kickstarter about 5 years ago. Not a huge boardgame person, but I really enjoyed this documentary. Very interesting just how big the boardgame world is - especially if all you know is Monopoly or Chutes & Ladders.
