About the Movie
The popular and cheerfully malevolent creatures are back in this hilarious adventure which reunites most of the original cast and creative team of its 1984 smash hit prequel, directed by Joe Dante ("Innerspace," "Twilight Zone: The Movie") and produced by Academy Award, Emmy and Golden Globe-winner Steven Spielberg ("Munich," "War of the Worlds"). Sweethearts Billy and Kate leave Kingston Falls for the big city where they meet up once again with their Mogwai friend, Gizmo. Hilarity reigns when a series of accidents creates a new generation of Gremlins and Billy, Kate and Gizmo must once again use all their ingenuity to outwit the little creatures and prevent another comic catastrophe. Filled with enough sight gags, celebrity cameos and crazy tributes to old musicals to satisfy any movie lover, right down to the now infamous closing credits.

Top Critics' Reviews
Fresh: Speaks to the gleeful hell-raising monster in each of us, and it speaks with much more verve, cleverness and good humor than the film on which it is based. Add this to the very short list of sequels that neatly surpass their predecessors.
Fresh: An hilarious sequel featuring equal parts creature slapstick for the small fry and satirical barbs for adults.
Fresh: Only a snob could resist such a generous level of lunacy.
Rotten: For a good hour it's less like a wild-spirited comedy than a '60s Disney film with Dean Jones or Fred MacMurray.
Besides the mediocre ending, this movie is pure humorous ingenuity without lulls. Highly recommended to fans of horror spoofs.
I enjoyed the first one. If you liked the first one; then stay away from this crap. I couldn't even finish this ignorant, and horrible excuse for a movie. Fire everyone , and anyone associated with this garbage.
A Comedic Gold Mine
While the first movie was much darker with comedic elements, Gremlins 2 takes the crazy to a whole new level with side splitting jokes and humerous nods to movies before it's time, all hitting a bullseye in the humor department. While fans of the darker tone of the original Gremlins movie might be dissapointed, I personally loved the cheesier aspect of Gremlins 2, and would recommend both movies to horror and just movie fans alike.
