About the Movie

H. is a mysterious, modern interpretation of a classic tragedy in which two women, each named Helen, live mirrored lives in the town of Troy, NY. The first Helen is in her 60s, lives with her husband, and takes care of an eerily lifelike baby doll called a “Reborn Doll,” which she cares for as though it were alive. The second Helen is in her 30s, has a successful art career and is four months pregnant. One night, something unexplainable falls out of the sky and explodes over the town. In the aftermath of this event, bizarre and unexplainable things begin to happen. As people in the town go missing en masse and unnatural cloud formations begin appearing in the sky, the two women find themselves and their lives spinning out of control.

Top Critics' Reviews

Fresh: A clever film written and directed by Rania Attieh and Daniel Garcia, "H." keeps the viewer watchful, waiting for it to splatter into a familiar horror plot or spin off into an alien abduction. – Helen T. Verongos, New York Times, Mar 31, 2016

Fresh: Its unusual amalgam of low-key, keenly observed naturalism and WTF inexplicability is potent enough to keep viewers enraptured. – Mike D'Angelo, AV Club, Dec 1, 2016

Fresh: This mesmerizing film from directors Rania Attieh and Daniel Garcia is filled with images that suggest connections to myth - like the head of a giant classical statue that's shown floating, impossible, down the Hudson River. – Alison Willmore, BuzzFeed News, Apr 1, 2016

Fresh: It is an enigmatic film, full of story and conflict, yet spacious enough for our thoughts to fill the unclaimed space. – Monica Castillo, RogerEbert.com, Apr 1, 2016

Not Worth The Time,Just Read Desrciption

Sundance strikes again with a movie that had beautiful music, scenery just look at the picture. This movie is as explainable as the description with no answers, media knowsnothing, news knows nothing. The meteor that fell with a boom was decribed not a meteor just a double negative rhetorical bunch of garbage. The two helens lives have nothing to do with one another other than the boom of what i would call gravity changes, the earth is out of balance therfore causing ringing in the ears and water going up with clouds forming nothing out of the ordinary cumulous formation whitch has to do with astronomy. iI kmow bad or weird writing on my part but zero on their in. Sound like fun?

Enjoyed this film!

Really enjoyed this film. I went into it expecting something totally different then what was delivered. The arthouse feel coupled with the grandiose tensions/score left me wanting. But, I think they achieved something here:) I'm still processing.

Snork!

One of those movies in which nothing happens. You know the type. Snork! (that's a snore)
