Top Critics' Reviews

Fresh: For all the action -- and there's plenty of it, even if it's only a portion of what was crammed into Rowling's 870 pages -- the most important stuff is what takes place in Harry's head. – Lisa Schwarzbaum, Entertainment Weekly, Feb 18, 2012

Fresh: By focussing the story on Harry (a leaner and slightly meaner Daniel Radcliffe) and his exploits, Yates dispenses with many of the novel's subplots and is able to push the story forward, ominously foreshadowing the dark times to come. – Bruce Diones, New Yorker, Nov 26, 2013

Rotten: Brought me straight back to one of the most enduring of childhood feelings: boredom. – Kyle Smith, New York Post, Jun 24, 2010

Fresh: Truth be told, it's the lad's many onscreen allies that prove the film franchise's richest draws. (Thank you, Alan Rickman, for your wonderfully embittered turn as Severus Snape.) – Lisa Kennedy, Denver Post, Jun 24, 2010

The fifth movie in the Hary Potter series is very different from all previous ones. The director has shot the movie with a new mystery feeling in the atmosphere and makes all of the special effects very exciting. Many parts from the book were cut out, but I think the editors made good choices to keep the movie interesting and funny at the same time. As with all the other movies, there are small parts of humor and enjoyment. Definitely a good buy.

we shouldn't

have to rent we should have the option to rent or buy because this is my fav movie and i want to keep it so i can watch it when i want!!!

Love this movie!!

When I saw this movie in the rentals space, my jaw dropped. Harry's struggle is much more different in this one because he's sort of alone, so it is interesting to see how he changes through the movie from the other previous movies. I give it 5 stars because even though its different than the previous films, its still enjoyable and thrilling. I absolutley adore this movie, and all the HP films, but why can't we buy it????????? WHY MUST iTUNES TORTURE US????
