About the Movie

A family of five moves into a beautiful, sprawling dream home. One problem: it's cursed, having caused the deaths of the previous family to occupy it, leaving only one survivor (Jacki Weaver). The moody 18-year-old son and his mysterious new neighbor inadvertently awaken something in the house while also violently shaking the many skeletons in the many closets. Mac Carter's debut feature is a frightening and powerful character-driven haunted-house film that isn't afraid to take the action outside.

Top Critics' Reviews

Fresh: Making a virtue of unoriginality, this clammy little ghost story, confidently directed by Mac Carter, conjures a whole heap of atmosphere from little more than clever camera angles and bedsheet apparitions. – Jeannette Catsoulis, New York Times, Mar 6, 2014

Rotten: By the time the final act unleashes its revelations and peril, "Haunt" has felt more like an exercise in formal spookiness than a full-blooded story of lingering malevolence. – Robert Abele, Los Angeles Times, Mar 6, 2014

Rotten: The frustration here comes from the filmmakers' inability to present characters with dimension, so that we might come to identify with them and their fears. – Zachary Wigon, Village Voice, Mar 4, 2014

Rotten: There's lots of mixed film stock and screeches on the soundtrack (as in the credits for "Seven"), but this gets annoying, as do the predictable twists. – Jordan Hoffman, New York Daily News, Mar 6, 2014

Better then expected

I'm a die hard horror fan. Most movies can not fill the void I need them to, however this movie kept my interest scared me and was a great story!!! Highly recommend for horror movie lovers. Well acted too.

This movie had a good plot and it was thrilling!! That's hard to find these days!! I'm glad I got the chance to watch it :)

Start's out Good and for what?

Had potential, really did. but like a lot of Indie Horror Films' didn't know what to do with itself toward the end so fell apart. Very dissapointed and I think you will be too.
