Top Critics' Reviews
Fresh: Robert De Niro's last great role before he devoted himself to self-parody.
Fresh: Heat occupies an exalted position among the countless contemporary crime films.
Fresh: Michael Mann and a superlative cast have taken a classic heist movie rife with familiar genre elements and turned it into a sleek, accomplished piece of work, meticulously controlled and completely involving.
Fresh: Just when it seemed that the only hope for crime movies lay in the postmodernist artifice of films like Pulp Fiction, Mann reinvests the genre with brooding, modernist conviction. This one sticks to your gut.
An Epic Crime Thriller
With an all star cast, Heat accurately depicts both sides of the cops and robbers, who will win, who will lose?
Multiple story lines in this tale of crime, drama, the thrill of the heist, the thrill of the chase. A must have movie for anyone who enjoys a good crime drama!
Couldn’t Watch It
I can’t say what it was, but there was nothing particularly gripping about this movie. Despite it being the kind of film I would normally like, and two great actors, my wife and I both lost interest and stopped watching.
A movie that made bank heists of today look like soap opera.
Movies of today copy what this movie brought inthe 90's.
