About the Movie
Breaking Bad's Aaron Paul stars in this riveting drama about a family under siege. Hard-drinking Texas single dad Hollis (Paul) struggles to raise his two boys, including rebellious teenager Jacob (first-time actor Josh Wiggins in a stunning breakthrough performance). Seething with anger, Jacob finds release in the high-risk, white-knuckle world of motocross—but his increasingly reckless behavior threatens to spin out of control. Academy Award ®nominee Juliette Lewis co-stars in this thrilling saga of fathers and sons that builds towards a heart-stopping climax, all set to an electrifying heavy metal soundtrack.

Top Critics' Reviews
Rotten: The whole film seems to be running in place.
Fresh: Despair is not quiet for a broken father (Aaron Paul) and his troublemaker sons in Kat Candler's brisk, transfixing drama, which takes place in blue-collar southeast Texas.
Fresh: Though some characters go underdeveloped, Hellion marks one of Hollywood's most realistic examinations of rural high school angst since Friday Night Lights, another teen drama set in Texas.
Rotten: While the film is absorbing and not without pathos, there's insufficient insight or shape to the screenplay, which drifts between Hollis and Jacob without building momentum.
Must watch !
Anchored by very strong performances from Breaking Bad's Aaron Paul as a lost, loving father slowly drifting away, newcomer Josh Wiggins as Jacob, his 13 year old son, wreaking havoc to dull the pain & Deke Garner being in the middle of it all, Kat Candler delivers a strong first feature film that feels authentic, real, heartfelt with a totally unexpected third act.
Hellion is the BEST indie drama I’ve ever seen. I saw this film premiere at Sundance, and even got to meet Aaron Paul and Josh Wiggins after the show. The character these actors (and more) bring to Kat Candler’s portrayal of adolescent aggression and theme of male family relationship is emotional, jarring, and humbling. The characters dive Breaking Bad deep and the ending gave me chills. I seriously can’t recommend this film enough, and can’t wait to see what’s next for Paul, Wiggins, and Candler.
Awesome movie, it needs a part two!
