Top Critics' Reviews
Fresh: This movie grabs you by the throat and squeezes.
Fresh: The central performances are riveting ... but the torture Young depicts, even only if it's suggestive rather than blatant, can be difficult to digest over the course of almost two long hours.
Fresh: Expertly made, and a must for horror film aficionados, Hounds of Love is a chance for everyone else to enjoy an utterly punishing night at the cinema, with acute stomach tension and mild stress-induced nausea.
Fresh: Bleak, tight and unusual. A strong start for Ben Young.
Caught Ben Young's feature debut at SXSW this year and it blew me away. An intensely crafted masterwork and director to watch.
This is honestly not the kind of movie I usually go for, but on the strength of the reviews and a buddy’s insistence I caught it at Tribeca: oh man. Ben Young is a crazy-talented director. This movie could have been an offensive trainwreck but instead it’s an incredibly crafted work of art. Years from now I think people will look back on this as his ‘Reservoir Dogs’. He’s gonna be a big deal. Amazing performances from the main cast.
anyone who reads my reviews on itunes will know i tell the truth. this movie is incredible. just a heartbreaking emotional and fantastic finish. just unreal. amazing
