Plot Summary

How She Move is an energetic, gritty and ultimately inspiring coming of age tale about a gifted young woman who defies all the rules as she step dances her heart out to achieve her dreams. Featuring a fresh cast of new discoveries, this Sundance Film Festival hit marks the feature film debut of the electric RUTINA WESLEY, with street-style step sequences by top choreographer Hi Hat and special appearances by R&B singer-songwriter Keyshia Cole and comedian DeRay Davis. Bursting with raw talent and intelligence, Raya Green (WESLEY), the daughter of Jamaican immigrants, has always been the family’s one great hope. She won the rare chance to break out of their drug and crime-infested neighborhood when she was accepted into the exclusive Seaton Academy. But when her sister dies of an overdose, the family is shattered and Raya is forced to return to the place she tried so hard to escape.

Fresh: How She Move was shot on the cheap in 16-mm. film, and some of it is a little drab-looking, but it has energy and bravado. – David Denby, New Yorker, Mar 3, 2008

Rotten: How She Move isn't a great film or even a terribly well-made film, but it has its moments and, of course, it has the ending it's promised all along. – David Wiegand, San Francisco Chronicle, Oct 18, 2008

Number 1 this movie has nothing to do with dancers...they are stepping! I absolutely loved the movie! Unlike most movies where the fill the list of actors/actresses with famous people this one had people i had never seen in know you live in America when someone says the actors or actresses are ugly! a dancer and have been doing it my whole life! Step up was my favorite but the others are just remakes of what step up was! This movie was completely one died so that means its lame! I agreed that it could have been better but i thought the STEPPING was good and showed real flava!

I want to rent this not buy it!!

14.99 please should be 9.99

Great Movie!

For clarification, this movie was made way before Stomp the Yard, however seeing that it was made in had to go through Sundance before it made it into the States. So... some people might not get this movie because it was flimed in Canada! This is the first film for many of these actors and actress and personally, I think they did a darn good job!
