About the Movie

Sexy, smart, and funny, How To Tell You're A Douchebag premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and chronicles Brooklyn based relationship blogger Ray Livingston, whose blog "Occasionally Dating Black Women" has made him more infamous than famous, as he meets his match in up and coming writer Rochelle Marseille. First time filmmaker Tahir Jetter has created a fresh, authentic and completely of the moment romantic comedy that announces him as a major talent.

Customer Reviews

Fresh, unpredictable

Unusual film. The actors are extremely good and the director is someone to watch and be reckoned with. It is a very spotty film in that there are moments that are super fresh and different, attention to subtle expressiveness that I really liked. And moments of humour that are unique. Unfortunately the language and objectifying nature of much of the behavior belied what seemed to be characters with a lot of depth. I don't quite get it. Can you not make a movie without resorting to constant bad language, sexual situations, etc? . With an obviously stunning cast and director I find this perplexing. Still, the moments that were entertaining were very much so, and the funny ones as well, I almost gave it 3 as it for me , was very spotty.

A Good script...
