About the Movie
Bruce Willis, Danny Aiello, Andie MacDowell and Sandra Bernhard star in the funniest action/adventure comedy ever. Willis is Eddie "The Hawk" Hawkins, the world's most famous cat burglar, who, after 10 years in prison, is ready to go straight. But it's not going to be easy for The Hawk. The mob andthe CIA have conspired to blackmail Eddie and his partner (Aiello) into stealing three da Vinci masterpieces from the most heavily-guarded museums in the world. Sounds simple, right? WRONG! While trying to steal the goods, Hawk falls in love with a beautiful but schizophrenic nun (MacDowell) and isrelentlessly pursued by the greedy and powerful Minerva and Darwin Mayflower, who want the artworksas part of their twisted plot to ruin the world's economy. It's wall-to-wall action as the wise-cracking Hawk saves the world, wins the girl, and gets the last laugh.

Top Critics' Reviews
Rotten: This unspeakably awful can make an audience a little crazy. You want to throw things, yell at the actors, beg them to stop.
Rotten: To say this megamillion Bruce Willis vehicle doesn't fly is understatement in the extreme.
For the right mood only
This is one where you have to be in the right frame of mind to enjoy. Don't take it seriously. Willis sings instead of timing himself with a watch, can't seem to enjoy a coffee without something happening, and a plot so strange its just funny to watch out of curiosity. Oh, and google the movie name to see a ridiculously funny poster of Bruce Willis. Makes me laugh every time.
I personally think that this is one of the best movies I have seen, and I have seen very many. The plot is clever, the dialoge and puns are funny enough, and the soundtrack (noteably Swingin' on a Star) is to my liking. It is now one of my favorite movies, if not my favorite.
Brings back bad memories
Whenever I am asked, "So, what is the worst movie you have ever seen?" the answer is always instant: Hudson Hawk.
This film is a mess from beginning to end. It attempts to be clever and quirky, but only succeeds in being annoying and at times embarrassing. Just about all of the acting is sub par, and some is truly painful (Sandra Bernhard and Richard E. Grant are the epitome of histrionic detritus, and Andie MacDowell, almost always an energy-sucking black hole in any screen she is ever on, practically bends light to her insipid performance in this debacle).
I could go on and on really, but I think you get the point. It has been truly cathartic to finally have a public forum through which to vent my near-hatred of this film. If you rent or buy, please know that you have been warned. If you actually enjoy it.... well...
