Plot Summary

Alexis "Lexie" Winston (Johnson) is a pretty teenage figure skater and Olympic hopeful who seems destined for greatness. Encouragedby her coach Beulah (Dewhurst), Lexie strives to be her best. Her father (Skerritt) has his misgivings, but Lexie skates her way to the finals. Just as Lexie's headed for the top, she suffers a freak accident. With the love and support of her childhood sweetheart, Nick Peterson (Benson), Lexie transforms her personal misfortune into a heartbreaking victory. Powered by a swelling Marvin Hamlisch score and Melissa Manchester's smash hit theme song, "Through the Eyes of Love," ICE CASTLES is an inspirational drama guaranteed to leave a lump in your throat.

This was a surprisingly moving movie

I watched it in 1979. It has the climax ending all those 70s movies were good for, like "and justice for all" and "Officer and a gentleman" which I miss in todays movies.

Heartwarming Love Story

When I was a little girl, I lived down the street from Lynn-Holly Johnson. All of the little girls in the neighborhood wanted to be her. This was a big favorite with my friends and me. I bought the movie for the memories. I thought it would be one of those movies you like as a kid and not as an adult. I was wrong. The caliber of the actors in the film makes the movie viewable today. The ending still gets me...

LOVED IT!!

This is one of the BEST movies I have ever seen. Very touching!! Love the song as well.
