About the Movie
After the sudden death of his lover, Guillaume, Tom (Xavier Dolan - Mommy, Heartbeats, I Killed My Mother), travels from his home in the city to a remote country farm for the funeral. Upon arriving, he’s shocked to find that Guillaume's family knows nothing about him and was expecting a woman in his place. Torn between his own grief and that of the family, Tom keeps his identity a secret but soon finds himself increasingly drawn into a twisted, sexually-charged game by Guillaume’s aggressive brother (Pierre-Yves Cardinal), who suspects the truth. Stockholm syndrome, deception, grief, and savagery pervade this psychological thriller from filmmaker Xavier Dolan.

Top Critics' Reviews
Fresh: Wildly entertaining, sexy and beautifully shot in the Canadian heartland.
Rotten: It's a tentative slow burn about the secrets we keep in the name of love, and it doesn't quite add up.
Fresh: Dolan is capable of making not only a genre film, but one that clocks in under two hours, even with his usual languid pace.
Fresh: Following an arc of dread that builds to a breathy climax, Mr. Dolan continues his usual theme of how people test their love and hatred for themselves and each other while he keeps your heart racing.

Great Strange Indie!
If your like me and love a solid, well made, well performed indie title, then you will enjoy TOM at the FARM!
Amazing
Dolan is soooo talented!!! In these past few months I saw almost all of his films and I can say that I love all of them!😍🙌🏼 Tom At The Farm is just so intense, full of little twists and turns along the way, that it keeps your undivided attention. All of the topics of Dolan's films are complete taboos which makes viewing them even more interesting. The actors in this film are amazing. The story itself is quite unusual and well told.😊💗
Once again, brilliant.
Stockholm Syndrome. The first time I saw this film I liked it. The second time I saw this film and I started putting together the pieces, I loved it. This movie is brilliantly done, and all the actors/actresses in it did an amazing job. It's a very different movie, in terms of feeling compared to Dolan's other works but nonetheless it is truly a masterpiece. If you don't understand it the first time- watch it a second time and take in all the details. A++
