About the Movie
When 12 ordinary members of the Women's Institute, a prim and proper local ladies' club, decide they need to find a more compelling way to raise money for a new charity, they turn to their traditional annual calendar and give it a very untraditional twist. Behind the usual baked goods, the apple pressing, and the flower arrangements are the women -- completely nude! Starring 2003 Golden Globe nominee Helen Mirren (Best Actress, Calendar Girls) and Julie Walters (Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets), Calendar Girls is a terrifically entertaining comedy. And that's the naked truth.

Top Critics' Reviews
Fresh: Breezes along for a good stretch in easy delight at age-defying liberation.
Fresh: The never-naughty Calendar Girls is as easy to take as it is because director Nigel Cole avoids the hard sell.
Rotten: Unlike the flowers and the women of Yorkshire, Calendar Girls hits its stride early on, and goes to seed well before we can enjoy its full bloom.
Fresh: Amiable enough as a frothy entertainment, with darker overtones rendered with emotional effectiveness.
Old ladies, posing nude in a calendar....brilliant! Calendar Girls is a rare gem delivering humor, provoking thought, and leaving you feeling a little bit more chipper than before. Excellent character development, and a great feel-good movie overall. I'll be buying this one.
Funny, Good Quality
This is a Good Quality and Funny movie, one of those that you see twice or three times maximum, and then it gets a little old.... I'm not sure if it's worth buying, as I have only seen it on the DVD, but, if I would have the money, I might go ahead and buy this.... Four Stars for Comedy and Quality, but not enough replay value.
This is a brilliantly funny moving. And in response to one of the other reviewers, this sin't supposed to be a big 'jaw-dropping' movies. It's a clever movie based on an inspiring story. And their accents are not hard to undesrstand.
