About the Movie

Disney proudly presents Brother Bear, an epic animated adventure full of comedy and heart. With five great new songs from Academy Award winner Phil Collins (1999 Best Original Song, "You'll Be In My Heart," from Tarzan®), it's "pure Disney magic from beginning to end!" raves Clay Smith of Access Hollywood. When an impulsive boy named Kenai is magically transformed into a bear, he must literally walk in another's footsteps until he learns some valuable life lessons. His courageous and often zany journey introduces him to a forest full of wildlife, including the lovable bear cub Koda, hilarious moose Rutt and Tuke, woolly mammoths, rambunctious rams, and more! Brother Bear is "a charming, enchanting story for kids of all ages!" ( Larry King, CNN).

Top Critics' Reviews

Rotten: Brother Bear is a very mild animated entry from Disney with a distinctly recycled feel. – Todd McCarthy, Variety, Jul 7, 2010

Fresh: The good news is that this is mostly good old-fashioned hand-drawn Disney animation. The bad news is that it relies too much on old-fashioned formula, hackneyed plot and cookie-cutter characters. – C.W. Nevius, San Francisco Chronicle, Jan 15, 2004

Rotten: Give one chef eggs, cream, and sugar, and he'll produce creme brulee. In another kitchen, you'll get plain old vanilla pudding. What we have in Brother Bear, for all the potentially tasty ingredients, is pudding. – Louise Kennedy, Boston Globe, Jan 24, 2011

Rotten: It's not that the movie is bad. It's just innocuous. – Desson Thomson, Washington Post, Jul 16, 2008
