Rotten: There's Something About Mary doesn't approach the witty anarchy of movies like Animal House, The Naked Gun, or Hairspray.
Fresh: Sensational, sicko fun -- you won't believe your eyes -- and just the thing to shake up the creeping conservatism that is draining the vulgar life out of pop culture.
Fresh: Crudely made, somewhat overlong and larded with plenty of things that don't work, pic stands as proof positive that a comedy can be far from perfect and still hit the bull's-eye if it delivers when it counts in its big scenes.
Fresh: A giddy symphony of rude and raucous low humor.

The truth is, Apple doesn't have any saying on what content can and can't do on the iTunes Store. The studios that produce, in this case, the movies, are the ones that actually restrict Apple from selling a movie to you. Do you seriously think that Apple, if it were up to them, wouldn't sell you or rent you anything in this store? They have to respect what the studios tell them how to proceed. The studios, just like the RIAA, have always been afraid of digital delivery. Because they think that people are gonna steal their content easier this way. Which is wrong, needless to say. If people want to steal content, they will do it no matter how the content is distributed. That's why we see so much of this stuff happening all around the net. Just think... ever since Apple started selling movies on the iTS, we've had same-day-as-DVD releases, and now with rentals, why do you think you have to wait a month to actually rent a title you can buy for $12 more? Studios have to give the physical renters, such as Blockbuster video, a break and a cut too. And this is the way they do it. Limit iTunes a month, so that the physical renters profit from DVD rentals, and then, start the revenues from digital delivery. That's why, and some other reasons like exclusive rights to TV networks, etc, movies such as this were only on rental option. Most of Fox's titles were in the beginning. They were testing the waters, so to speak. And now that they see 1) That Apple has come up with an infalible DRM system; and 2) Demand is healthy, they make it available to purchase.

This movie is a really funny movie, and it has a great (kind of twisted) story line to it. It is good to watch it every once in a while. Worth buying!
