Top Critics' Reviews

Rotten: Just a parade of scattershot gags, more often weird than funny and most often just flat. – Janet Maslin, New York Times, Aug 25, 2008

Fresh: Perhaps they don't create quite enough deeply funny earthlings to go around, but a thoroughly meanspirited big-budget movie is always a treasurable rarity. – Richard Schickel, TIME Magazine, Jun 24, 2010

Fresh: oaded with wit, nifty little ideas and an extraordinary sense of design, but its allure is of quite a particular nature, much closer to that of Ed Wood than of Burton's earlier, and far more commercially successful, works. – Todd McCarthy, Variety, Jul 7, 2010

Rotten: Not as much fun as it should be. – Kenneth Turan, Los Angeles Times, Jan 22, 2006

Topps trading cards finally make it to the screen!

What most people don't realize (due to their young age) is that this movie is entirely based on a series from Topps trading cards that came out during the early 1960's. I remember seeing some of them when I was a kid in grade school and though "Hey, this would be a great movie." If you take this movie seriously, don't...its a satire for those that know what that is. Good fun and brilliantly done from the trading cards. Sit back and please, make all the fun of this movie you want...that's what its there for in the first place!

This movie is great

This is one of Tim Burtons best movies! I couldnt belive all of the famous actors and actresses in this movie.

A great, well mad movie.

This is basically an alien invasion movie but is a comedy almost. It was pretty good, but didn't really have a solid genre, it was a silly action movie with not that much action, but not quite enough sillyness...if that makes any sense.
