Top Critics' Reviews

Rotten: I felt like I was seeing The Da Vinci Code with slightly shadier priests. – Owen Gleiberman, Entertainment Weekly, Sep 7, 2011

Rotten: Not since Gus Van Sant inexplicably directed a shot-by-shot remake of Hitchcock's Psycho has a thriller been copied with so little point or impact. – Peter Travers, Rolling Stone, Jun 24, 2010

Rotten: Other than the obvious marketing advantages of releasing this movie on 06/06/06, a second Omen seems completely unnecessary, even if it is kind of fun. – Peter Hartlaub, San Francisco Chronicle, Jun 24, 2010

Rotten: It's a terrible sign for a movie when the sole reason for its existence is a satanic opening date. – Wesley Morris, Boston Globe, Jun 24, 2006

Terrible

1976's "The Omen" is one of the greatest horror films of all time. 2006's "The Omen is one of the worst horror films of all time. This movie is NOTHING like the first one. It's not even a funny terrible horror film like "Child's play" or "The Leprechaun." This movie blows the donkey. Don't rent or buy.

Why didn't anybody like it?

This movie had suspense and it also had very interesting devilish points of view. So, besides for keeping me on the edge, it also kept my intellectual side of my brain working. I love movies that make you feel like your spending time using your imagination and mind while also entertaining you. Also, damion, job well done.
