Top Critics' Reviews

Fresh: Baron Cohen's instincts for outrage are spot on. It's not insight we need at all right now, but a very sharp bonk on the head. – Betsy Sharkey, Los Angeles Times, Jun 24, 2010

Fresh: Cohen has come up with some marvelous satirical motifs; elsewhere, he's just showing how far he'll go to get a laugh. – Stephanie Zacharek,, Jun 24, 2010

Fresh: When moments seem like setups with actors, they turn tame. But when things feel real -- as when Bruno conronts an Arkansas wrestling-match crowd -- they can get scary-real. – Bob Mondello, NPR, Jun 24, 2010

Rotten: Wholly unsuitable for children, yet propelled by a nagging puerility that will appeal only to those in the vortex of puberty, or to adults who have failed to progress beyond it. – Anthony Lane, New Yorker, Jun 24, 2010

Possibly the worst movie of all time.

There may not be words bad enough in the English language, nor Sacha Baron Cohen's, to articulate how truly awful this film is. The humor comes cheap, even by over commercialized hollywood standards. With no message to the madness, the film abandons any small ounce of credibility that the filmmaker earned with Borat. It truly sheds light on his previous works as accidental touches on intelligence, and not farces on modern political societies. I would say that Sacha went Hollywood, but now I'm not sure he was ever that creatively high, and I wouldn't even want to drag Hollywood down to the level of this film.

Most hilarious movie ever!

Bruno is a very funny film, unfortunately you have people that don't have a sense of humor.

Wow. Are you serious?

Okay, so i got this movie from my local movie store. i put it on hold, just so i could see it before everyone else. I got 20 minutes into it, and shut it off. After i witnessed some dudes below-the-belt-area, i couldnt really take anymore of this. Borat was amazing. Bruno is horrible. dont get it. you will regret it. i promise.
