Adam Sandler, Seth Rogen and Leslie Mann star in this seriously funny film from writer-director Judd Apatow, (The 40-Year-Old Virgin and Knocked Up). When famous comedian George Simmons (Sandler) is given a second chance at a new beginning, he and his assistant, a struggling comedian, Ira (Rogen), return to the places and people that matter most…including the stand-up spots that gave him his start and the girl that got away (Mann). Co-starring Jonah Hill, Eric Bana and Jason Schwartzman, it’s the film critics cheer is "uproariously funny!" (Sonny Bunch, The Washington Times).

Top Critics' Reviews
Fresh: Funny People is funny, moving, dramatic, and alternately hilarious. It's a bit like a stand-up dramedy.
Fresh: Fans of The 40-Year-Old Virgin and Knocked Up will find much the same measure of sentiment and ribaldry - ie, too much of both - and, if it's possible, even less of a grasp on what lesser film-makers call "story".
Fresh: Funny People may be deeply flawed, but at least it has an accurate title.
Rotten: A healthy dose of negativity might have helped to tone this baggy indulgence of a movie into some kind of workable shape. Not every idea is a good idea, after all.
More drama than comedy
Not at all what I expected, but a great movie. New roles for some of these actors. Well played.
Good laughs and good writing
People who give this movie a bad rating must have ADD. By watching the preview you pretty much know what you're getting into. This is a drama with lots of laughs. If you're expecting a typical short, punchy, shallow movie, where laugh follows laugh, you will be disappointed. I wasn't. I was impressed. It's raunchy humor...not for everyone, but if that doesn't bother you, art imitates life in this funny, sad and interestingly scripted flick.
Maybe Seth Rogan and Adam Sandlers worst
This movie could have been way better considering the actors involved, however I found myself laughing only a couple of times (and not really out loud). I was very dissappointed. :(
