Top Critics' Reviews
Fresh: The Astronaut Farmer's goofy quality makes it totally endearing. It's also super entertaining. Critics are fond of referring to movies as a 'great ride.' With this one, the words couldn't be more apt.
Fresh: It's hard not to like a movie so determined to make you feel the love of a family, to make you feel that every dream can become a reality and that every mortgage can be rescued by the sudden death of a family member and his inheritance.
Rotten: The value of [Farmer's] dream and its potential for destruction are irrelevant. Refusing to accept defeat is all that matters -- at least if you're the designated good guy.
Rotten: Look, there's Bruce Willis, an old astronaut buddy from Farmer's aeronautics-training days! No, Mission Control, this isn't Armageddon. Ben Affleck is nowhere in sight...
Great Family Movie!
When I watched this I was amazed on how well they made this movie! It's a great movie to watch with the fam! I enjoyed it a lot and it is a great motivation on chasing your dreams and pursuing them and even if you fail at it don't give up because there's always a chance to try it again!
This movie is really bad. They try to align with a previous space (Mercury) program, but it comes off worse than a Saturday morning cartoon. Don't waste your time.
I love how Farmer puts his mind into training to be an astronaut. (SPOILER) I sort of feel bad for him because no one believes in him, put he makes it to space.
