This delightfully fun and lighthearted comedy is based on Jane Austen's classic novel. Dazzling Gwyneth Paltrow (Shakespeare in Love, Iron Man) shines as Emma- a mischievous young beauty who sets up her single friends. Funny thing is…she's not very good at it! So when Emma tries to find a man for Harriet, she makes a hilariously tangled mess of everyone's lives. You'll enjoy all the coming confusion...until Emma herself falls in love, finally freeing everyone from her outrageously misguided attempts at matchmaking.

Top Critics' Reviews
Fresh: Gwyneth Paltrow makes a resplendent Emma, gliding through the film with an elegance and patrician wit that bring the young Katharine Hepburn to mind.
Fresh: This is a better-looking movie than Sense and Sensibility and one as rich in characters.
Fresh: It's not difficult to enjoy the genteel amusements Emma provides even while wishing its virtues were less wholly on the surface.
Rotten: When the going gets tougher the film doesn't have many answers, and the odd unsettling surge of over-emphasis betrays an eye on the American market.
I've seen this over 30 times. GREAT MOVIE!
Superb film, great cast and acting, brilliant score (Rachel Portman), based on the book by one of the most gifted writers ever, Jane Austen.

Gwyneth Paltrow is perfect!
I loved the book and I loved this movie! The movie is so true to the book, I could hardly tell any difference! It's cleverly done and as funny as Jane Austen's novel. And of course, Gwyneth Paltrow is perfect as Emma. She completely captured her and I loved watching her. The other actors were great too. I could watch this movie over and over!
