Top Critics' Reviews

Rotten: Aging is probably the real theme here, but it's approached sidelong and has no punch. Still, only the nostalgia has any real conviction. – Rachel Saltz, New York Times, Nov 1, 2012

Fresh: In an era transfixed by zombies and assorted other ghouls, Vamps is a refreshing change of pace. – John Anderson, Variety, Nov 6, 2012

Rotten: "Vamps" is mostly a misfire, but Heckerling still shows enough flashes of wit and wisdom that she remains hard to entirely dismiss. – Mark Olsen, Los Angeles Times, Nov 1, 2012

Fresh: Cheesy but chipper vampire comedy has modest charms. – John DeFore, Hollywood Reporter, Nov 7, 2012

Fun movie to rent!

Fun, quirky movie to rent, entertaining enough, and some nice suprise appearances by Justin Kirk and a few other fun character actors and comedians. Alicia Silverstone is extremely annoying with her constant (fake) lip-swirving. She mouths 12 words in the time she says 3, and it's funny to watch the scenes where she forgets to do it. All that money and she can't even fix her crooked yellowed teeth. Krysten Ritter is the cute, funny and fun character she always is, which is the main reason I watched this. Overall a fun time, and the perfect movie to rent, not buy.

Old souls will love this!!

It's such a cute cross between Clueless and Dracula. Any vamp enthusiast will love the playfulness of the characters and all the nods to classic movies, actors, fashion, etc. A definite watch!!!

As a guy, I actually liked this movie, overall this movie never bored me and it was a great movie to watch through the film, this will be a movie I will rewatch. I recommend going and buying it.
