Top Critics' Reviews

Rotten: The movie is predictably sentimental at its root, but it's also meant to be comedy, partly resting on Mr. Williams's energetic but failed attempt to play a jerk. – Nicolas Rapold, New York Times, May 22, 2014

Rotten: A schmaltz opera that indulges Robin Williams' most melancholy tics and themes. – Peter Debruge, Variety, May 30, 2014

Rotten: Every scene between two people comes off like drunkenly shot video of a play rehearsal gone horribly wrong. – Robert Abele, Los Angeles Times, May 22, 2014

Rotten: It seems life is still unendurable for those who feel entitled to absolute comfort from it. – Calum Marsh, Village Voice, May 20, 2014

Peter Dinklage is brilliant!

This guy can carry the screen like few actors. It's worth just to watch him and robin williams is typically amazing. The tomatoes are askew here. One of the best movies of all time.

Well done & funny

Thought provoking movie that leaves you questioning your own life. It is rare to find a movie that does that. Terrific acting. Surprise hit!
