Top Critics' Reviews

Fresh: You have to sit through the slow parts to savor the cool parts. The movie's little surprise is that you didn't waste your time watching it; you were just being primed for an explosion of low volume and high impact. – Richard Corliss, TIME Magazine, Oct 16, 2014

Fresh: The Drop's unpredictability is organic rather than sensationalistic. The movie doesn't pull surprises out of thin air for the sole purpose of shocking an audience - it lets them develop naturally. – James Berardinelli, ReelViews, Sep 12, 2014

Fresh: The film is just three degrees off being brilliant yet is always creepingly moving, and I loved its lived-in squalor. – Antonia Quirke, Financial Times, Jan 5, 2015

Fresh: As a vehicle for those two actors, The Drop is gangbusters. – David Edelstein, New York Magazine/Vulture, Jan 5, 2015

Excellent

Being one of James' last films I truly enjoyed the plot, character development and complex relationships and darkness of the crime underworld.

slow mello drama

How boring was this ? verry fell asleep didnt miss the middle conclusion slow predictable nonentertaining to say the least .. SAVE YOUR MONEY 4 get this !!!

The Drop-out.

What a disappointment. How this flick gets a rating of 89% from “The Critics” is beyond me?? It’s too bad that James Gandolfini couldn’t have gone out on a high-er note. He deserved better than this dullard of a film.
