Top Critics' Reviews

Fresh: Wan and Whannell have, in effect, ripped pages from the "Poltergeist" playbook and stripped the formulas down to old-style gothic scares. – Bruce Diones, New Yorker, Apr 11, 2011

Fresh: For all its creaky-old-dark-house cliches, Insidious is a fun ghost-train ride, full of truly terrifying moments. But once it's over, it's forgotten. – David Michael Brown, Empire Magazine Australasia, Jul 4, 2011

Fresh: Director James Wan here proves himself very adept at building dramatic tension and making you anxious about the things going on in your peripheral vision. – Jim Schembri, The Age (Australia), Jun 16, 2011

Rotten: They're having such a joke on us because there is a ridiculous element to it and one of the things that I think they fall into the trap of showing too much. Horror and being scared is much more effective without actually seeing. – Margaret Pomeranz, At the Movies (Australia), May 12, 2011

Great Scares

I saw this film in the theater with a lot of teenagers (I. myself, am 39) and it was a blast. In the theater, it was very scarey. I do not want to give away any spoliers but the movie scares without the all the gore that is expected in today's films. I just hope the translates well to the small screen. I enjoyed it very much.

Have fun and by the way..........BOOOOOOOO!!!

GREAT!

I was waiting for this movie to come out for such a long time!
I saw the movie in the theater and it was awesome, scary, and funny at some point! I enjoyed it a lot!!!

Great Horror movie!

I saw this movie about 2 or 3 months ago and it was a great horror movie. My favorite scene was when the girl met the red face demon(which almost looks like Darth Maul from star wars). I would recomand this movie along with the remakes of A Nightmare on Elm Street(2010) and Halloween (2007) for any one. This was a good horror movie.
