With sensational, nonstop martial arts excitement supplied by the acclaimed choreographer of THE MATRIX and CROUCHING TIGER, HIDDEN DRAGON, IRON MONKEY is the spirited tale of a mysterious and mythical Chinese legend. In a desperate and unjust land, where government corruption rules the day, only one man -- known as the Iron Monkey -- has the courage to challenge the system and fight back. Under the shadow of night, in the silence before dawn, he fights to give hope to the poor and oppressed. Although no one knows his name or where he comes from, his heroism makes him a living legend to the people ... and a wanted man to the powers that be! Presented by Quentin Tarantino -- don't miss the exhilarating action adventure that critics everywhere have called one of the greatest martial arts films of all time!

Top Critics' Reviews
Fresh: The story is fairly generic, but plot has as little to do with the pleasures of kung fu movies as story lines do in musicals.
Fresh: Yuen tosses off nimble, elegantly witty solutions to life's most vexing problems regarding rooms full of bad guys who won't take thwak for an answer.
Fresh: A cinematic marvel to behold.
Fresh: Not only has nothing essential been compromised, but the film seems crisper, cleaner and better organized than I remember.
One of the BEST!
This is a classic of the genre. Good character development, engaging story, tons of humor, amazing Kung Fu choreography, and a happy ending (optional). Quentin Tarantino gave this one a thumbs up for a good reason. If anything, take the advice of a brilliant director.
Modern Old School Kung Fu Film
Donnie Yen plays the conflicted man between a corrupt official and the robin hood character who plagues him, played by Rongguang. Has the classic martial arts film themes and look; the good & bad guys really look the part and the plot only serves the Kung Fu, which is very good.
Only the best
Only the barest semblance of a plot to enable wonderful wu shu. Also Donnie Yen
