About the Movie
The horror thriller “IT”, directed by Andrés Muschietti (“Mama”), is based on the hugely popular Stephen King novel of the same name, which has been terrifying readers for decades. When children begin to disappear in the town of Derry, Maine, a group of young kids is faced with their biggest fears when they square off against an evil clown named Pennywise, whose history of murder and violence dates back for centuries.

Top Critics' Reviews
Fresh: You'll scream bloody murder!
Rotten: Doesn't cut very deep and isn't very scary.
Fresh: "It" fills its 135-minute run time with enough impressive visuals to keep its audience rapt, if not as emotionally invested as the source material deserves.
Fresh: I'm writing this not so much as a critic but as an ordinary moviegoer, experiencing Proustian transport via an old-fashioned scary movie executed by a team of filmmakers and actors at the top of their game.
...Wow...just...just wow. I've been waiting for a horror movie that is not only scary, but delivers on so much more than that. IT was one of those movies that I heard people laugh about, because of the miniseries with Tim Curry, so THIS version of IT was something I had low hopes for. But man, oh man, I should have had higher hopes, 'CAUSE THIS MOVE'S AWESOME. IT is the first horror movie in a while to deliver on scares, plus the drama, and the tension building. It's intense, it's superbly acted, Pennywise is scary as...well, yeah. The director knew what made this book scary and improved upon them. I do wish this movie was scary enough to make me wet myself, but we can't have everything. Anyway, Skarsgard IS Pennywise, sorry Curry. So yeah, this movie is everything you would want from a Stephen King novel, and more. 10/10. Watch it, then watch it again.
Still scares the s*** out of me
After all of these years and this movie still scares me. Be prepared for a special surprise before the credits.
