About the Movie
Imagine the end of the world— Now imagine something worse. Award-winning filmmaker Trey Edward Shults follows his incredible debut feature KRISHA with IT COMES AT NIGHT, a horror film following a man (Joel Edgerton) as he learns that the evil stalking his family home may be only a prelude to horrors that come from within. Secure within a desolate home as an unnatural threat terrorizes the world, the tenuous domestic order he has established with his wife and son is put to the ultimate test with the arrival of a desperate young family seeking refuge. Despite the best intentions of both families, paranoia and mistrust boil over as the horrors outside creep ever-closer, awakening something hidden and monstrous within him as he learns that the protection of his family comes at the cost of his soul.

Top Critics' Reviews
Fresh: Shults's adoption of a more vicious mode sharpens his already discomfiting take on families in states of extreme duress in his debut feature Krisha.
Fresh: It's a simple exercise in terror that avoids too much explicit violence, and a quietly impressive little movie.
Fresh: It Comes At Night marks writer-director Trey Edward Shults as a talent to watch.
Fresh: The characters' behaviour rings true, the tension is strong and the oily darkness of it all looks good.
Not the movie it's advertised to be
Be warned! If you are expecting a nail biting, suspenseful, edge of your seat thriller this is not it. The previews advertise it as a suspenseful horror film, but it's not. I had low expectations with this film judging by real reviews from people who have actually seen this movie. I had hoped that maybe they were wrong in saying it was a huge disappointment, that there is nothing resembling anything so much as an actual plot, you never really find out what "it" is and that by the end you will be asking yourself "What in the world did I just watch?!!!" and wishing you didn't waste an hour and an a half of your life on this. Unfortunately they were right.
Hated this movie
Worst movie I'd ever seen, anyone to waste there time on this movie will regret it in the end.
Definitely one of the best movies of 2017.
I do recommend not watching the trailers, particularly the second one.
Not what you would expect, not what I expected. What I got was a movie that puts humanity and paranoia on the forefront.
