About the Movie
Drawing from over 100 hours of never-before-seen footage that has been tucked away in the National Geographic archives for over 50 years, award-winning director Brett Morgen tells the story of JANE, a woman whose chimpanzee research challenged the scientific consensus of her time and revolutionized our understanding of the natural world. Set to a rich orchestral score from composer Philip Glass.

Top Critics' Reviews
Fresh: Full of vivid greens and sun-backlit wildlife imagery, Van Lawick's shots are beautifully composed yet not too formal looking, thanks to the warm, grainy quality of 16-millimeter film. "Jane" looks like an old home movie directed by David Lean.
Fresh: The film confronts not just the expected issue of environmentalism but also explores themes of survival, separation, loss, and death.
Fresh: For all the advancements that Goodall brought to our understanding of chimpanzees, the real lesson of "Jane" may be that it is connection - whether among humans or chimpanzees - that is the true measure of a species.
Fresh: Like so many women in pursuit of their studies, Goodall had to tolerate being studied herself.
Beautiful film *****
Wow everyone should see this film!!!!! The fotage is breathtaking and its a facinating story. What an amaizng human being. Truly inspirational.
Only negative is the music is terrible. Its very loud and does not go at all with the film. Poor chioce. Dr Goodall has a very calm beuatful energy, the background music doesnt relate.
